The Birla Temple is centrally located and easily accessible from all parts of the Pink City. This is also known as Lakshami Narayan Temple. It is one of the traditional ancient oldest Hindu temples of the city. It is devoted to the Lord Vishnu. This spiritual site is an architectural landmark of the city.
It is situated below the Moti Dungri Hill, and has wonderful surroundings and nearby attractions like Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple, Maa Durga Temple, Kulish Smarti Van, Jaldhara, Albert Hall and Jaipur Zoo, Ramnivas Garden and many more places and shopping areas.
It was built in 1988 by B.M. Birla Foundation. It was built by the well-known and wealthy business Birla family. Birlas has built many shrines and holy places across the country. The land on which the temple stands was given to the Birla family by a Maharaja on a token sum of just one rupee.
This spiritual site is considered as architectural wonder of Pink City as rich carvings on pure white marble makes it heart taking site. The temple's beautiful architectural layout and graceful carvings depicts the classy architectural configuration of a modern Pink City. The temple has amazingly engraved idols of Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. The delicate carvings of ancient Geeta quotes, Hindu symbols, religious figures, and idols, figures of historical achievers and philosophers, and mythological images can be seen. There are three colossal domes in the Birla Temple as these domes depict the different religion approaches. The months of October to March is considered as the best time to visit Birla Temple. One can also enjoy the festivals celebrated here by the devotees like Krishna Janmasthami. This festival is celebrated with great excitement and fullest scale. The suitable timings to visit the shrine are 8.00 AM to 12:00 Noon and 4.00 PM to 8.00 PM every day. It remains closed for four hours every day for four hours from 12:00 noon to 4.00 PM. Tourists can also shop traditional and handmade items available at the shopping complex of Birla Temple.
This spiritual site is always throng by devotees and very difficult to find it totally vacant during the day time. The number of visitors multiplies to a greater number during Krishna Janmasthami and festival celebration.
