Jaipur to play host to Children’s Film Festival 2016


Imagine a world where little children are producing movies, coming up and framing scripts on their own and directing films.

Such little champs as directors will get a golden opportunity to be with and learn with the prominent writers, cinematographers and directors of the Bollywood industry.
These little children will be provided with a platform to learn and grow.

Such an opportunity will be provided at the Children’s Film Festival.

Children’s Film Festival 2016: Festival dates

The Children’s Film Festival will commence from November 8, 2016 and will conclude on November 14, 2016.

Taking place in the Pink City for the first time:

Taking place for the first and the foremost time in the Jaipur city, the festival will specially cater to movies which are child specific and children oriented in nature.

Children’s Film Festival organisers:

The Children’s Film Festival is being organised by the Children’s Film Society Of India.

An agreement with the Rajasthan Government was signed successfully recently.

The launch of the first edition for the same took place in New Delhi.

Halls booked - movie screening on:

Majority of the cinema halls in the Jaipur city will be booked for the Children’s Film Festival. In the festival, animated movies will not be on display for the kids, instead such movies will be shown which have been specially made for children.

3 to 4 shows will be organised and shown on a daily basis for the kids.

Jaipur: The cultural hub, says Mr. Shrawan Kumar, CEO of CFSI

CEO of Children’s Film Society Of India Mr. Shrawan Kumar expressed that Jaipur city has turned out and has stood out to be a cultural hub in the country.

Beautiful festivals are organised all the year round in the Jaipur city. Jaipur city has always been a preference of CFSI for organising events.

No bar on age for participation:

On speaking about the Children’s Film Festival, Mr. Kumar added that there is no bar on age for the fest.

A child of any age can participate in the festival.

Children to make movies:

The most special section of the Children’s Film Festival is “Little Directors” where children aged from 6 years to 16 years will be provided with a theme and will be given a chance to make a movie on the given theme.

There will also be no bar placed on the language. A child will be free to make a movie in any language that's prevalent in the country.

Children are just supposed to submit their entries and finally a decision will be made and movies will be chosen to be displayed in the festival finally.

Giving creative wings to the children of the country: An initiative by the GOI

Mr. Kumar revealed that this initiative by the Government of India is to give wings and boost the inner creativity amongst the children in the country. The children will also take a feel of exposure and will experience filmmaking.

Meeting the Bollywood famed industry people:

It is said that children will also be allowed to experience the work of some prominent directors of the Bollywood industry and will be given the chance to meet them too.

Not only this, but the children will also get an opportunity to meet legendary scriptwriters, cinematographers and camera men and learn from them.
