The evening of Krishna Janmashtami (कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी) is almost here as Thursday, August 25, 2016 will be celebrated as Lord Krishna’s holy birth. To mark the celebrations of the same, 'Govind abhishek' will take place in the wee hours of the night, 12 a.m. - 1 a.m. पंजीरी and प्रसाद will be distributed to the devotees thereafter. On the day of Krishna Janmashtami at 3:45 a.m., Lord Krishna’s exquisite Darshan can be done during the 'mangal aarti'.
The timings of all 'jhakis' will be changed on this day.
To aid devotees who will turn up in a huge number (as happens annually and is expected this year too) the final preparations have been done. The arrangement of three lines has been done at the temple, to help the devotees walk in an orderly manner and experience the beautiful sight of Lord Krishna. Special arrangements apart from the normal arrangements have also been done to avoid traffic congestion in the walled city and also to aid the people in coming down and thereafter leaving from the temple premises.
People who enter from the gate at Jaleb Chowk will depart from the east gate of the Jai Niwas Bagh after their Darshan. People who enter from the Gangauri Bazaar, Brahmpuri or Kanwar Nagar will depart from the west gate of the Jai Niwas Bagh via the Chintaharan Hanuman temple.
All devotees of Lord Krishna will be given a laddoo and a packet of 'panjiri'. 'Laddoo' will not be given free of cost and will be chargeable on the evening of Janmashtami.
From the security point of view, the devotees will not be allowed to carry certain items of the holy puja inside the temple. It is advised that the people do not carry the following items to the temple premises at all:

If any of the above items are brought by the people, these then will be checked by the security guards and will be taken and deposited outside the temple premises only. 'Nand utsav' will be celebrated on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the temple. For this, celebratory and religious activities will instigate from 8 a.m. in the morning while 'nand utsav' will take place from 1 p.m.
A shobha yatra in the form of a procession will take place at 4 p.m. The shobha yatra will instigate from the premises of Govind Devji temple and will conclude at the temple of Shri Gopinath. People who will be a part of this procession will be dressed in clothes of yellow colour. This procession will pass through:
To see the preparations for the festival of Janmashtami, the mayor and deputy mayor Mr. Nirmal Nahata and Mr. Manoj Bhardwaj respectively made introspection into the premises of the Shri Govind Devji temple. The introspection was done on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.
They ordered the working officials to maintain decorum and cleanliness in the temple premises and to also make sure provision of services to the crowd.
The mayor along with the pundit of the Govind Dev Ji temple Shri Manas Goswami discussed on matters like decoration, lighting, electricity and cleanliness provisions in the temple in light of Krishna Janmashtami.
