Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh Memorial Shooting Competition is dated to have begun from Thursday, July 8, 2016. It is a matter of pride for the state of Rajasthan that participants from the state delivered a performance which was parallel to delivering excellence on the very first day of the championship.
In one of the shooting competition for the 10 meter air pistol in the junior category, participants namely Sheesh Ram and Puran Singh scored at 373 and 370 respectively. In the same category and competition, Madhav Singh made a score of 365. In the category of air rifle for women in the junior category, Rajasthan’s Shivangi Kanawat hit a score of 386 giving a brilliant performance.
In the air rifle for women for the senior category, Rajasthan’s Sunaina Kanwar made a score of 367.
In the air pistol’s junior ISSF category, the act of shooting players namely Jagdish Singh, Sarjaat Singh and Kurbaan Singh was tremendous. All the three players made scores of 562, 549 and 543 respectively.
Akhilesh Pratap Singh, secretary for organizing the Maharaja Karni Singh Memorial Shooting Championship expressed that shooting players from the states of Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana and New Delhi are taking part in the championship.
A figure of 800 participants has been estimated for the championship.
For the inaugural ceremony of the championship, BJPs (Bhartiya Janta Party) member and leader, Shri Ramcharan Bohra reached the venue about 2 hours late.
Shri Bohra Ji made an attempt to hit in the trap shooting style in the Jagatpura shooting range. The leader seemed quite ecstatic about the game and further went on to inquire with the Director of the shooting range, Mr. Ajay Singha that in how many days can he learn the art and style of shooting.
Director of the Jagatpura Shooting Range, Mr. Ajay Singha expressed that very soon the shooting range will go through renovations and renewals. For confirming the same and making it a positive deal, Mr. Singha will meet the sports minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar and the chief minister of the state Smt. Vasundhara Raje Ji.
In another fascinating shooting competition which is open for all age groups and categories, so as the name hints, this style of shooting competition is open to participate by young children, adult men and even the old people. In the shooting range, numerous kids were found fluttering and participating along with elderly people.
For the inaugural ceremony of the Maharaja Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Championship, the presence of the esteemed shooting player Chandro Tomar aged at 82 years was anticipated.
The player however could not mark her presence in the ceremony as she had to unexpectedly leave for a talent hunt program that was taking place in the city of Hyderabad. She is expected to be back in the city around July 10, 2016.
