Book Lovers Want To Understand the Psychology


The interest of book lovers is increasing in books on psychology, romantic fiction, and Film based fiction. Comics are still famous among the young generation.

Internet and social media has disrupted the lifestyle of an individual, lacking a person with time. But still the youth is more interested in reading books. The choices of genre have been changed. Instead of reading stories of Akbar – Birbal, Singhasan Battisi, the crowd of book lovers is more interested in reading biographies, self - help books, self – improvement books, political matters, fiction, science, general medical, and business matter. Apart from young book lovers, there are people who even after crossing the age of five decades are still interested in reading books.

We met different book readers of different ages at C – Scheme situated book store, Crossword Bookstore, and talked with them about books. Every reader there told us their frank opinions. Most of the readers said that they prefer reading biographies, self – help, self – improvement, and investment. While many of young people said that they prefer reading romantic novels, books based on films, and fiction. Comics are still in craze amongst the children. With all these genres, books on psychology have made its own way in people’s heart and mind.

“I have reads many story books here. I recite children stories from these books. For teaching rites, I read religious books. Apart from these we also read books on political matters”, said Avinash Kasliwal.

“My favourite subject is psychology. I wish to set business in near future and therefore I reaf books related to business and entrepreneurship. I read self – help, biographies and political books also. One can find book on any genre easily in this city”, said Kshitij Pachori.

“To understand the society, I read psychology. I also read good books on management. Evergreen books like Today Matters by John C Maxwell, Good Leader Asks Great Question, Six Values, Six Thinking Hates, and Change your thoughts: Change your life are my personal favourite. I gift books too” said Dr. Aditi Mathur, Professor, Agricultural University, Jaipur.

 “One can get motivated and change their direction of thinking by reading biographies of important people and different fames. Apart from biographies, I prefer reading books on management, psychology, and marketing. I read religious books too but once in a while. Books are our friends”, said Paaras Khunteta, Student.

“I read books to escape from reality. Books like A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, A cup of Sake beneath the Cherry Tree by Kenko, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte are my personal favourite. I prefer reading both, classic and contemporary books”, said Anubhav Tyagi, Content Writer.
