12.2 % Baby Boys And 11.7 % Baby Girls of the State Are Malnourished (कुपोषित)


Children younger than age of 5 are highly malnourished (कुपोषित)

According to the survey conducted by central government CAB 2014 many of the children of Rajasthan state are found to be in a very malnourished (कुपोषित) state. Around 12.2 % of the state’s baby boys and 11.7 % of the state’s baby girls who are under the age of 5 years, are found to be malnourished. Also, 11.6 % girls and 17.2 % boys who age in between 5 to 18 are suffering from the disease.

By the way of yearly health survey, central government conducted surveys in Rajasthan, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orisa, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh. According to the report, the kids in the state of Rajasthan are being born underweight. The central Government and Rajasthan Government are splurging a lot for the improvement in the health of people.

Weight of normal kid shall not be less than 2.2 kilo grams…

At the time of birth, the weight of the child should be 2.5 kilo grams but if the child is born under 2.2 kilo grams then he/she shall be considered as malnourished child. Improper Diet is also one of the main causes for the malnourishment.

Causes of Malnourishment:

  1. Birth before due date
  2. Low weight of mother at the time of delivery
  3. Anaemic mother
  4. Improper diet of mother’s milk
  5. No proper diet after 6 months of birth
  6. Improper functioning of stomach in illness
