‘Exhibition Van’ to be Introduced in the Pink City soon


For the art lovers of Jaipur, Rajasthan Lalit Kala Academy has introduced the concept of a movable art gallery in the form of ‘Exhibition Van’. Exhibition Van has been designed to show art paintings, sculptures, art movies and documentaries of renowned artists of the country, to art students as well as national and international tourists.

Now you don’t have to go to art exhibitions to see art paintings or sculptures. The van shall be sent to different tourist destinations of city where you can watch those paintings and art movies. An expert shall accompany the van and shall provide information about the paintings to the art lovers along with interacting with them.

  • When is it going to start? - In the last week of July, 2016
  • Where shall it start? - Firstly Jaipur, followed by other cities of Rajasthan and further followed by other states

Prominent features of the Exhibition Van

  • Designed purely in the form of modern art gallery and according to the modern look of art
  • Well equipped for display of around 20 to 30 paintings and various sculptures
  • LED has been set up in the van where short films and art documentaries that have been pictured on renowned artists of the country, shall be shown
  • 16 lakhs already spent on the fully air-conditioned van

Annual plans formulated for the successful implementation of exhibition van

Academy has prepared annual programmes subordinating Art Exhibition and promotion. Firstly, the van shall be sent to the art schools of city to aware students about art. Followed by this, it shall be sent to tourist destinations of the city, where local and foreign tourists shall familiarize with the Indian art. For this, officials of academy shall connect with tourism and archaeology department.

Journey of Exhibition Van to be extended to other states also

After completing the first phase in form of touring the tourist destinations and art schools of the Pink City, the Exhibition Van shall also be taken to various other cities of Rajasthan and other states as well to make people aware about the cultural heritage of art (both in urban and rural areas).

 “Exhibition Van has been registered. Although there has been a delay due to government proceedings, but it shall soon commence on the new concept. After commencement from Jaipur, it shall be sent to various cities of Rajasthan and other states as well. Approval from few states has already been received. Annual planning has also been completed. Collection of academy shall be displayed first. This van shall be a centre of attraction for art lovers, art students and tourists.”

So Jaipurites get ready to watch art on wheels roaming around the Pink City and experience altogether a new world of heritage and cultural art.
