Summer Tips for Healthy Living

During summers, your body asks for extra care and attention so as to keep yourself protected against the harsh weather conditions. Here are a few tips that will help you lead a healthy life during summers.

Stay Hydrated

When it’s scorching hot outside, your body loses water much faster than it normally does. So, it is important for you to drink lots of water, intake other liquids like ‘keri ka pana’, coconut water and mango shake and eat fluid-rich foods like salads, berries and melon. Staying hydrated protects you against heat and also helps you look good.

Protect your Skin

The harsh sun rays can make your skin look and feel dry and dull, taking away your real glow. Dress well with light, cotton cover-ups, caps or hats to protect your skin against the harmful UV rays. Do not step out without applying sunscreen and moisturize regularly for having a soft and smooth skin.

Exercise

Exercising is important to healthy living, regardless of the season. Do keep up with your exercising program. Join a health club, go hiking or indulge in physical sports like swimming or playing games like tennis and football.

Spend your Noons Inside

The most important summer tip is to stay inside when the sun is at its strongest. Try enjoying indoor activities at home or recreational centers. Utilize your ‘in-time’ reading some new books, if you like.

Experience Nature

Summers are good time to relax and rejuvenate amidst nature. Make it a habit to visit your nearby park early mornings or during evenings, leave the virtual world of your cellphone and truly experience nature. You can either meditate or have fun with friends or swing in the park.
