Jaipur’s Youngsters Gaining Success with their Small, Creative Ideas


The city of Jaipur is rapidly moving towards becoming a startup hub. At the same time, ideas of the city’s youngsters are gaining success and worldwide popularity. One such success story is of youngsters – Roman Saini, Gaurav Munjal, Sachin Gupta and Himesh Singh, who together founded an educational startup named ‘Unacademy’.

Unacademy’s Success Journey

They started their ‘Unacademy’ venture through YouTube videos. And later took the concept further with a professional website in January 2016. Today, ‘Unacademy’ is India’s largest free education platform where students can get high quality lessons on different genres by expert educators. It is fast growing as the students’ most favourite talking point.

The startup has received a funding of around 3.7 crore rupees in mere 6 months, which itself speaks of its success. Recently, investors like Blume venture and Marquee Angel have invested in this startup. The startup has an Alexa Ranking of 1980 in India, which is a good number for just a 6 months old website.

About the Co-Founders

Dr. Roman Saini was previously posted as an Assistant Collector in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He left his job for this startup, which aims to help students in building a career. Roman has also been one of the youngest IAS officers along with clearing the AIIMS’ entrance exam at the age of just 16.

Similarly, Gaurav Munjal has previously run a startup named ‘Flatchat’. He is a presently the co-founder and an educator at Unacademy.

They are doing a good job providing free education to kids. They have also allotted space to educators on their website, where educators can run their own mini-courses. Educators are permitted to upload a video of near about 10 minutes. Unacademy also provides tips and tricks to crack examinations like the civil services examinations and exams for other government jobs. It is a great platform for all career-building guidance. India’s first IPS officer, Dr. Kiran Bedi has herself created a course on Time Management and Productivity at their website.
