The Lyricist of 'Hasi Ban Gaye Ho' song is a Jaipurite!

Meet the very young, very talented lyricist from Jaipur, Kunal Verma, who made his Bollywood debut last year with Mahesh Bhatt camp's movie 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani'. He had written the lyrics of Hasi Ban Gaye Ho song of that movie that received great applause for its magical lyrics. Kunal Verma wrote both versions of the song Hasi, sung by Ami Mishra and Shreya Ghoshal.

'Undoubtedly... 'Hasi' made his career!'

Not many knew Kunal before 'Hasi Ban Gaye Ho' song was released. He became a talk of the B-town for his nomination to Mirchi Awards 2016 for the best upcoming lyricist of the year for the magical lyrics in his debut song Hasi Ban Gaye Ho.

"pehchante hi nahi ab log tanha mujhe, meri nigaahon mein bhi hain dhoondhte wo tujhe..."

Excerpts from Kunal Verma biography tell that he started his career in the pink city as a graphic designer, which helped him earn and save a few bucks. He then launched a music album 'Mahi Ve' and established his own music company Songster Music in Jaipur itself. Since then Kunal Verma has been in touch of creative directors trying to pitch Kunal Verma all songs to them.

The Journey of Hasi Ban Gaye Ho...

The lyricist also reveals that he had written a song long ago, which one day he asked Mohit Suri to listen. That song became - Hasi Ban Gaye Ho! Mohit Suri prepared the song and took it to Mahesh bhatt, who then decided to add it to Khamoshiyan movie but then the song finally made it to Hamari Adhuri Kahani. The song received great love and appreciation from youngsters, music lovers and critics alike and also won several awards and nominations!

Kunal believes in the power of hard work teamed with focus, craze, passion, creativity, travel and determination. He says, "12 saal se ek surang khod raha tha, pata tha ek na ek din kahin na kahin zaroor niklegi". By this he means, "He was busy digging up a tunnel since several years and was hopeful that this tunnel would lead him to a brighter side of the world one fine day."

Kunal recalls that Bhatt sahab motivated him with a line, which he considers the most powerful phrase ever heard. The phrase goes like this:

"You have too much oil inside, let it come out and burn the world"

Jaipur-based lyricist, Kunal Verma is currently working on several movies. He is not just writing songs but is also active as a music composer and singer with his partner - you must have heard of Kunal Verma and Rapperiya Baalam. This duo has delivered their biggest hit song for Rajasthan titled, 'Mharo Rajasthan'.

It's time for 'Lost Without You'

The recently released 'Lost Without You' song of the upcoming Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film 'Half Girlfriend' has also been written by Jaipurite Kunal Verma. Jaipur lyricist Kunal Verma, who writes his name on FB as Kunaal Vermaa, says that he has written this song for Mohit Suri only. Suri also liked it and decided to add it to the film Half Girlfriend. This song will feature the bonding shared between Arjun and Shraddha's characters in the film. Both the stars - Arjun and Shraddha also visited Jaipur for Half Girlfriend promotions.
